Artichoke Extract is obtained from the leaf of Cynara scolymus L. It has many properties including inhibition of cholesterol biosynthesis, hypolipidaemic, antioxidant and hepatoprotective activity. The dicaffeoylquinic acids, which include cynarin, are likely to be an important groupof constituents in this respect.
